Prepared for Clinton Utilities Board
A website built for Clinton Utilities Board.
I looked at what you have already built, measured what your current site does with it, and built the site I think it deserves. This is the short version.
Nothing here is a guess
What you have already built
What the site does with it
- The page takes 11.0s to appear on a phoneMost people searching for this trade are on a phone and in a hurry. 11.0s is long enough that a good number of them are back in the search results before your site has drawn.
- Google scores the mobile experience 55 out of 100That score is Google's own measure of what a phone visitor experiences. It also feeds the ranking, so it costs twice: once with the visitor and once before they ever see you.
- The site does not link your Google listingYour reviews live there and the site never points at them, so the strongest proof you have is one search away instead of one tap away.
Where that puts you
At 10 seconds it is 123% higher. Google, 2016 study of over 900,000 mobile landing pages
The site I built you

Search to phone call, and where they are lost
| Search | They search on a phone, at the moment the thing has gone wrong. Google scores your mobile experience 55 out of 100, and that score feeds the ranking. | A page Google can read: proper headings, structured data, and the town named where it counts. |
| Land | The page takes 11.0s to appear. | 1.2s, and the slowest of the 488 I have built and measured is 1.8s. |
| Understand | They have to work out what you do and whether you cover them. | The trade, the town (Clinton) and what you do, in the first screen. |
| Trust | You have 95 reviews at 2.8 stars and the site does not lead with them. | The rating and the count set large, linked to the listing so anybody can check them. |
| Explore | 6 services, with no way to tell which one their problem is. | A symptom finder: they pick what they noticed and get what it means and how urgent. |
| Decide | No indication of cost, so the cautious ones never call to find out. | Honest ranges for the three shapes of job, and what moves the number. |
| Contact | One way to get in touch, and it asks them to do the work. | A tappable number on every screen and a form that sends, tested. |
Not a template
- A page for every service you list — Not a generic services grid. Customer Service, Electric, Electric Rates each get their own page, titled the way you title them.
- The questions your customers actually arrive with — The symptom finder is written for electrical work, not for trades in general — what people notice, what it usually means, and how urgent it is.
- Built around Clinton — The region, its weather, and what that does to the work here. A visitor can tell in one screen that you are local.
- Your 95 reviews, at full size — The rating and the count are the loudest thing on the page, because they are the strongest thing you own.
